As a photographer, I work to create images that speak to myself and others about the beauty of the natural world.

Part of my process before I begin to make an exposure is to spend time connecting with the environment, allowing myself to feel a response from within to the interplay of light and form. I am seeking not simply to document a particular place but to create images that convey the essence or experience of being there.

I aspire with each photograph to capture not only the relationship between visual elements but to acknowledge the passage of time at each location. This process might be represented by evidence of the inexorable progress of geological change, the perpetual movement of the stars, the daily rhythms of tidal ebb and flow or the briefest moment in the life of an insect. The challenge for me is to make an image that reveals something of this process through the encapsulation of a moment in time.
