My photography is evolving into a visual biography of how I see the world around me that I may not be able to verbally explain.
From being greatly influenced by my early experiences with film photography, a pinhole camera and the outcomes of the darkroom, to using a DSLR and now to mirror-less. I feel with the right vision and ethos, a visually interesting image can be taken on any format with any equipment.
I relate well with looking for detail in organic and natural materials and using the interesting lighting patterns, contrasting tones and textures present. My vision is to create a sense of mystery as well as bring connection to nature and simple elements. Investigating detail in nature has created a vision that I feel is becoming more and more disconnected and I hope to bring this connection back through photography.
For me, Photography is such a personal experience of creating honest, organic images which reflect my personality, experiences, my vision of humanity and the complex lives we can live and break it down to something calming, vulnerable and relatable. Utilising the natural light and dark, I hope to portray the life experiences of the light and dark moments of our lives and that the contrast of the object relates to our personal experiences of emotions.
